Answer» Hello,I was thinking of MAKING the move to vista. What I would like to know is weather I should go 32 or 64 bit Hardware Information -------------------- CPU : Intel(R) Pentium(R) Dual CPU E2140 1.60GHz Bus Type : PCI Bus Motherboard : ASUSTeK Computer INC. P5B Rev 1.xx s : American Megatrends Inc. BIOS Date: 07/13/07 21:27:16 Ver: 08.00.12 Memory : 1024 MB : : NVIDIA GeForce 8500 GT Well the hardware will run it although you may want to add another G of RAM.
As far as the 64bit QUESTION you will need to reasearch all of your components especially the MBoard to see if there are 64bit drivers written for Vista. There aren't a ton of applications written yet to optimise 64bit but you would be investing in the future so to speak. The real key is making sure there are drivers for your components. Whatever you decide Good Luck to you.Thank you very much. I most likely will go for the 32 bit.I would simply install the 32 bit version. That guarantees that you don't need to find special drivers if your device is supported (most devices should be supported) by windows vista.
And at least 1gb seems good if you don't care too much of video games on your computer or you have a low requirement game like age of empires 3.
But people have been saying that 2gb is a good number.
Good LuckDepending on which flavor of Vista you decide on Home/Business/Ultimate etc. make sure to check out your options...i got Vista Ultimate that came with both 32 and 64 bit versions included...won't tell you what i paid for it however. It's a bit more than most would spend.

The main PRODUCT is Microsoft is offering at a steal is Microsoft office, as it's main page says BUT if you go to left menu and hover over "Additional Products", you see that Windows Ultimate Upgrade w/ SP1 for $64.95 is there.
I believe you can still do full version install with the upgrade if you wanted by making a clean install
