Solve : ican card reader being sold with outdated driver help? |
Answer» Hello. I installed a Ican card reader. The driver CD that came with it opens a realtek driver installation which MAKES me assume its a realtek card reader. however after installing it i get a triangle with an ! and in the submenu from device manager it says "Go to Start -> Computer -> Organize -> Folder and search options -> click View tab -> UNCHECK "Hide empty drives in the Computer folder" -> OK"ok. Followed the first step of uninstalling it. No go. The second step i did aswell and now in the device manager i have a yellow '!" next to Realtek Card Reader(0161). I tried downloading that driver but it did nothing. what now? From where are you getting the driver ? ?well the orignal one is on the mini cd i got which doesnt work in win 7.but works in XP. Then i found these labels on the cd.... rts5121 rts5161 and im unable to find a page on realteks page to download them. ive tried other pages but those downloads didnt work,.Most likely because they are XP drivers... You may need to purchase a card reader supported by Win7,,,which shouldn't cost too much... Sometimes it is what it is...i just bought it 2 months ago. on the box it says ICAN card reader. i had it working but then had to reinstall everything due to a hard drive failure. so now i cant find the driver i used. the box says compatible with win 7.Contact the manuf... I found very little on the unit in my searching. |
