Solve : Installed new McAfee antivirus, having a problem.......?

Answer»

I have a logitech Pro 9000 web cam, when I installed it I was running McAfee Site Advisor and everything ran fine. My old McAfee ( Site Advisor) expired and I installed McAfee Antivirus Plus a few days ago, now when I use my web cam the movements have a 1-2 second delay which I never had before, right after I installed McAfee Antivirus Plus I stated getting this problem. Can changing to a different type McAfee cause this? I never had this problem for almost 2 years running the Site Advisor, I OPENED my web cam 5 minutes after installing the Antivirus Plus and it had the delay. Should I re-install my web cam or go back to using McAfee Site Advisor again, any ideas? Thanks....Made a mistake in my post, my old McAfee I had that expired was "McAfee Security" not Site AdvisorGo to the control panel and then Add/Remove and UNINSTALL the old one.I don't see the old "McAfee Sercurity" in my control panel under the "add or remove" programs, only the new one "Antivirus Plus"Now I'm getting a blue screen saying that my windows NEED to close because there is a problem that may cause damage to my computer. It said to uninstall any new hardware or software, the only thing I installed in the past few days was that McAfee Antivirus Plus 2010, if I uninstall that I have no sercuity on my pc. My pc has been running funny ever since I installed that McAfee. I never had any problems when I had the McAfee Sercurity 2009. My old McAfee Sercurity 2009 expired thats why I installed the new Anivirus Plus, when I installed it did it remove the old Sercuity 2009?mark227, I suspect this comment is NOT going to make your day. However it is the general concensus of the members of this forum that you would be wise to stay away from McAfee and Norton anti virus software. From personal experience they are nothing but trouble. Trouble of the nature you are now experiencing.
There are a number of free anti virus software that one seldom hears complaints about. I am using (on different computers) Avast,Avira, and AVG. If i was to state a personal preference it would be for the latest version of Avast (Ver.9).

From the experience of others on the forum the McAfee removal tool seems to be the most effective.goodluck, truenorthI've experienced McAfee on my previous company before... its tedious installation I must say and too much resources are consumed by it.

ANYWAY, if you decide to go for free antivirus I would recommend AVAST. that is my favorite for the past 2 years now.If I download Avast, do I also have to download a firewall too?
Also I keep getting a blue page that tells me my windows have been shut down to prevent damage to my computer, It says the problem is with a file, "Partmgr.sys." and also reads "Page_Fault_in_nonpage_area". What does this mean and how do I correct it? Thanks........Download the macafee removal tool here:

This should remove all mcafee software from your computer including the new one. Once you've finished the removal, install your new McAfee Antivirus Plus from the CD again.

I would do the above and then forget McAfee. Next:
