Answer» I have just bought a Microsoft Web Cam and HP Printer but when I put the discs into the DVD r9 DISC rive - they do not work I also cannot play my CDs like I used to do. As I am not technically minded - can anyone enlighten me please? The best way to test if that CD drive has gone bad is to swap it into a working MACHINE... Do you know someone who can do this for you ? ? This will TELL you if the problem is the drive itself or it's something in your machine. I am afraid not! Thanks for the information all the same. If, I go through My Computer - I can access it by double clicking on the ICON etc RosemaryGo to Control Panel/System/Hardware/Device Manager... Find the CD/DVD drive and right click it and select Properties... Post back with what it says.
