Solve : Installing on a partition?

Answer»

So, when I installed windows....I installed it on a seperated PARTITION.

I left enough space on the partition to fit windows(4g)...while my other partition has about 8g left but when I try to install programs it gives me this error (in the link) http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v215/KageX/untitled-2.jpg

Does anyone know why? Or have a FIX?So, you installed Windows on D, right? Why did you partition that way, with C being 71GB and D less than 4GB? Obviously, you don't have enough space on D to install additional programs.

Did you just RECENTLY install Windows? If so, I suggest you format and re-partition your hard drive, and install Windows on C. Is there some reason you do not WANT it on C? If this is Windows XP, I suggest you make your OS partition at least 15GB. That will leave plenty of room to install programs on the same partition as Windows.Im not trying to install onto D:

Im trying to install onto C: but when I do that it tells me there isn't enough room on the D: drive...and I don't know why it's trying to put it onto the D: even after I change the directory where it's installed to.Your comments seem inconsistent with the image in your link. It shows D selected for installation of Adobe Photoshop CS2, and indicates D has insufficient space. That same panel should allow you to select C. Are you saying you can not select C there? If so, what happens when you try to select it?Before I get to that screen it asks me to select where I would like to install the Adobe Photoshop CS2.
So I select C:Program Files/Adobe then I click Next
After I click Next it brings me to the screen saying there is not enough space on the highlighted drive
While at the screen where it says there isn't enough space on the highlighted drive the only thing I can click is Next...which brings me to the Installtion has been Cancled screen.I'd start over keeping in mind how the partitions would be setup more efficiently...Yeah, the present partitioning structure really makes no sense. Again, I'd make the OS partition at least 15 - 20GB. That would still plenty of room for one or more additional partitions. For example, if you're into digital photography, you could create a separate partition for photos, in addition to a partition for data files.
