I really need help. My printer stopped working and I got a message saying the driver was not there. I UNINSTALLED the software - - got out the origional disc and tried to re-install the program. I get a windows message saying that the "spooler SERVICE is stopped, click here to start it and continue the installation". Well I clicked about 10 times and nothing happens. I am running Windows XP, SP2. I am trying to re-install a Lexmark Printer Model X1150. This printer has been running on here for several years and no trouble until today. Can someone help? Thanks, David Disconnect the printer cable. Turn off the printer and disconnect the POWER CORD. Shut down the computer. Reconnect the printer cable and power cord, and turn on the printer. Reboot. Cancel out of all "found new hardware" screens. After the boot up is completed, insert the Lexmark disk and reinstall from there.Thanks 2K but that didn't work. I am still getting the the setup message "spooler service is stopped". I also get another message if I try to use the "found new hardware" wizzard. It says the "RPC Server is unavailable". What does this mean? Why has RPC service been disabled ? ?
It's kinda important to Windows and not just for printing...
