Answer» My son told me yesterday that the interface on Windows Media Player 11 looks odd on his computer and asked me to change back to normal like it is on my computer. If you'll notice in the screenshot below, the tabs and BUTTONS are in B&W. When I first start Media Player, for about 1/2 second you can see the correct interface, but then te ghastly black and white stuff overlays. He couldn't tell me how long it has been this way. Have tried everything I can think of including uninstalling, upgrading video DRIVERS, themes, desktop properties, ETC. Both computers are the same model and both use XP. THANKS! THIS IS NORMAL: I had a similar problem with notepad, the MENU items suddenly became highlighted (file,edit etc). The cause was either me editing some system32 icons using Reshacker or installing UXtheme.exe patcher. Have you USED either of those recently? In the end I had to perform a system restore. Since your problem has only just occured? would a restore be an option?
