What can be dangerous if I want to create new partition from 40 GB NTFS DISK with 30 GB free space using Partition Magic? It's one of those things that's great when it works (Sometimes DEPENDS on the user and how familiar they are with partitioning) it's OK, but when it screws up, you can be hosed.The only time you should use partitioning tools on a HDD is if you have a backup image of that drive or if you are preparing a new drive to be added to a system... Third party partition tools claim they can move/resize/shrink existing partitions without data loss but there are also a few NY bridges that are for sale pretty cheap as well. I would suggest grabbing a library book and reading up on PM. It is a very good tool if used properly and it takes a little bit of a learning curve to use but overall a good program. patio.
