Solve : is there any working software to shink 4dvd to 1 dvd plyable?

Answer»

hi this is sami   i have 6 houres video .vob  or .avi    i have both formats.   i want to shink those video to 1 plyable dvd.  urgent .  i need it.

plz tel me working software. No, the standard DVD allows about 2 HOURS of video. Only VOB.
AVI files do not play on a standard DVD player. A good quality AVI file of a hour and half movie is about 800 Meg Byes. So you could put four or file such AVI files on a standard 4700 Mega Byte DVD. But it will play only on a computer.Adding to Geek's....

Many newer DVD players have USB ports and will play straight .avi files from USB flash drive. Quote from: Broni on January 27, 2011, 06:06:35 PM

Broni, I want one of those! Where can I get one?I bought mine online few years ago, because back then, they're rare, but today, you should get them at any electronic store.
I KNOW, "Best Buy" have them.I have seen many DVD movies compress into one DVD disc but have not USED any type of software. The only thing I have noticed is the quality loss on video and a little on the audio side.As i have mentioned on other posts i use a free version of this burning software.

I have through use determined that it does an AUTOMATIC sizing of video files to fit on a 4,7 gb dvd disc. I do NOT know what the maximum size that can be condensed is. I have successfully placed 3 hours of movie video on a single disc so far without any noticeable deterioration of audio/video. The sole drawback to the free version is that you will have a very brief promo of their paid version before the movie starts. I doubt it would do it for 6 hours but i don't know and i also don't know if it did what the quality of the production would be.However for at least 3 hours and less it is very good. truenorth Quote from: jason2074 on January 27, 2011, 10:39:30 PM

So you're saying they can successfully get 4 movies onto 1 DVD disk....i can't wait to see this. Quote

Actually I've seen 12 or more hours of dvd movies(about 8 to 12 movies) using just a 4.7 Gb disc. I was surprised seeing how they managed to compress this but I think its against Forum rules.
