Solve : Japanese language support? |
|
Answer» I do not have Japanese language support on my computer, so therefore anything in the Japanese language I download is being encrpyted or whatever, and therefore unreadable. anything in the Japanese language I download is being encrpyted or whatever, and therefore unreadable. Please be more specific here. Are you talking about BROWSING websites using Japanese language, or are you talking about downloading text documents that would normally be viewed in a word processor, etc.? Exactly what do you mean? And, do normally need to just view something with Japanese language, or do you also need to type Japanese from your keyboard?Hi "Soybean" Many thanks for your patience. In answer to your first question - No I have downloaded some Japanese documentary films, which had Japanese titles which came down encrypted because I did not have Japanese language support. I need to be able to somehow see them in their original form, so I can COPY and paste them in one of the translation sites, to get the correct meaning. I was hoping that doing your tutorial step 1 - 4 would correct them back to their original form, but it did not. To your second paragraph the first PART I suppose the answer is "yes", but to the second part of the question is "no"So, you're trying to watch Japanese documentary films that you've downloaded. In that case, I suspect doing so does not require installing Japanese language support in your computer. Since you're watching a film, that's a different matter than viewing a webpage with Japanese language on it or being able to type Japanese characters from your keyboard. Whatever is recorded on film is what you get, period. At least, that's my thinking on this. Do the Japanese documentary films offer an on-screen panel where you can select certain preferences for how you view and listed to the film? Since I'm not familiar with Japanese documentary films, I can not assist you further. If anyone else has some thoughts on this, please jump in.Hi "Soybean" No, you misunderstand me. It is not the film that matters. They are in AVI format and watchable. It is the titles which were originally in Japanese language, which have downloaded with the films which are encrypted - these are what I am trying to sort out, back to their original writing to allow me to translate them.
