Solve : Java Installation Error?

I need Java for my fantasy football draft...however, everytime I try and install it, I get this message:

"This installation PACKAGE could not be OPENED. Verify that the package exists, and that you can access it, or contact the application vendor to verify that this is a valid Windows installer package."

That appears after Windows installer attempts to install.

under the FILE's properties, this is what The file is:

Java(TM) 2 Platform Standard Edition binary

I REALLY have no idea what to do about this!That seems like a reoccuring error. Try the Java forums as we have never been able to supply anyone with an answer to that problem.okay...will do!If you find a solution, please do report back.
