Solve : Java is bugging me!? |
|
Answer» I am having a big problem with Java. Each time I try to open a Java applet, the applet goes grey and I cant even open it. Java Plug-in 10.6.2.24 So does someone get any ideas as to how to solve this? As for browsers, I have tried Chrome, MOZILLA, IE, Rocketmail, Safari, Opera just to get the same resukts. I have also tried both the online and OFFLINE download version, and the same thing happens. Just a heads up: I use Windows 7 - and also, I am kinda noob at these Also, I did try the Java verification, and it shows a 'loading' animation with a grey box below reading 'Error'. Its when I click that I get, jreVerification.class Please help Download the offline version instead here http://java.com/en/download/manual.jsp and make sure to remove old versions using JavaRa. Good Luck and Welcome to CH. I did that too, its returning an error as I mentioned aboveTry disabling your firewall and protection softwares then go with the offline installer first. I did everything I could including turning off firewall, disabling UAC and everything, but none worked so far. All browsers are showing the same errorThis looks like a bad applet, or your computer isn't properly downloading the jar or class file. What website is this you are accessing? If you can't say for whatever reason, can you check and see if it works on other computers or ask the author if there are known issues? Actually I am sure the Applet looks good because It worked till YESTERDAY night. Then I slept and after I woke up and logged in, it wont work. It should be a problem with my computer because for everyone else the applet works. Is there some setting that I am messing with?Another thing you can try is to open Java under Control Panel (Control Panel -> Programs under win7), Click View... under the Temporary Internet Files section. Now delete everything under Resources and everything under Applications (from the top dropdown list). This clears the Java cache and can fix a lot of problems with updated applets. I just now did that and restarted my browser. I now see that the error has changed BACK to jreVerification.classAre you logged in as an administrator? I saw a mention of not having admin rights sometimes being the problem. If you are logged in as an administrator, I'm not sure what else could possibly cause this problem. Yes, there is only one account for my laptop and that is the admins I am glad you treid thoughIf it worked just a couple of days prior, maybe try system restore to an earlier date.i do not believe java is available for laps or notebooks at least not on any of mine, but it functions perfectly on the desk. |
