Solve : Java Program not working.?

Answer»

Having trouble with this freeware program I came across. I unzipped it and the first time I double clicked it, it worked. Every other time it did nothing at all.  I INSTALLED all the java stuff on my Windows XP computer that I thought could run it. I thought maybe it needed a class of some kind so I tried dragging the "animelamp executable file" into the Java bin's "javac" to make a class file. That didn't work. I have no clue how to get this program to work.

try the batch file.
Command prompt comes up for a second, then closes a second later. Nothing happens. What program is it?
What did you double click? I don't see any exe file. It's a java program, which usually runs via .class files- here they are packaged in JAR files. which one has the main class is a puzzle in and of itself.

webcam guy- right click the batch file and select edit. What is inside? Quote from: Broni on November 08, 2008, 09:55:22 PM

echo off

set PATH=%PATH%;.

start javaw -jar animelamp.jar > animelamp.log
sounds like there could be a class missing in there. Have you tried reinstalling/re-unzipping the program from the original archive? Quote from: BC_Programmer on November 08, 2008, 10:11:20 PM

I've unzipped it a few times and re tried running the .bat. It just comes up with the command prompt for a second and then goes away.

It's when you use their "Hotlink for forums(1)" link.
