Solve : Java version question?

Your JAVA is out of date. Older versions have vulnerabilities that malware can use to infect your system. Please follow these steps to remove older version Java components and UPDATE.

UPDATING Java:
  • Download the latest version of Java Runtime Environment (JRE) 6.
  • Scroll down to where it says "The J2SE Runtime Environment (JRE) allows end-users to run Java applications"…..

I find this confusing. I have J2SE Runtime Environment 5.0 Update 11. That update occurred on 2/15/07; it was automatic, since I have Java to AUTOMATICALLY check for updates. So, I supposedly have the latest version. Yet, you say the latest version is Java Runtime Environment (JRE) 6. I just opened my Java Control Panel and clicked on the Update Now button to see whether it would get another update. It tells me I have the latest update. What's the scoop here?I've been wondering the exact same thing. I recently installed the new Update 11, but I've seen some people refer to it as "out of date". Which, of course, doesn't make SENSE to me because it just came out.
