Solve : JavaScript Troubles?

Answer»

I have an Intel Pentium 166MHz w/MMX Computer and use Windows 98. I was trying to access a web site and saw this error message: "ERROR! JAVASCRIPT is required to use this site!" I then downloaded and installed JRE (Java Runtime Environment), Version 6, Update 1. I EVEN customized my Security Settings to enable Java Scripting but I'm still seeing that error message when I try to access that web site. I know JavaScript is on my system because I see the Java coffee icon in my Control Panel. What do I do to be able to use JavaScript so I can access certain web pages? COULD I have missed a step in the download/installation? Any help is appreciated. Thanks.

jandal Which browser are you using ? ?I am using Internet Explorer 6. Does it make a difference? Should I be using a different browser? No i was just MAKING sure it was new enough...

Did you uninstall the older version of java first ? ?

Post a link to the site it may be an issue on their end.

You could also DLoad and try FireFox and see if that works...
