Solve : Just formatted computer- freezes.?

Answer»

Hi

I just formatted my laptop (Acer Aspire) with windows xp (with service pack 1) and now as soon as I turn it on and the desktop loads, it freezes. I cannot do anything.

Do I need to download this stuff and install it? How WOULD I do this- could I download it from another computer onto a usb and install it in safe mode? Because safe mode works fine. Or else what do I do?

ThanksIs this the Windows that CAME with it? How is the disk LABELED? What happened requiring the reinstall? The answers to these questions are critical.Hey

My computer did not actually come with windows cd, it was preinstalled. I used a genuine windows xp home edition cd- including service pack 1. I used the product key supplied with my computer. The computer had a PROBLEM with the network adaptor apparantly. Thanks for the reply.Have you traveled to Acer's site and dloaded and installed all the drivers for that machine ? ?No not yet- should that fix the problem? I will have to use a different computer to get to the stuff and download it to a usb and try to install it from there. No guarantees but with the proper drivers i'm sure it will run much better than it is right now...
