Answer» I own a Toshiba A100, model no. PSAA5A-01H00T, OPERATING suite Windows XP, virus programs Norton Anti-Virus, Trend Micro PC-illin. Have programs disks for all. Recently the CD drive stopped working suddenly. It won't play CDs, DVDs or PC GAMES where it worked perfectly before. I don't know if it is a software or a hardware problem, but would really appreciate some help. It's really frustrating!Try pressing the drive release button on the side/bottom and re-seat the drive... Do this with all power off.Insert a bootable disc, make sure the cd drive is at the TOP of the boot order in bios, and REBOOT. Does the system see the drive at boot?
