Hi I am trying to set up a linksys wireless router model wrt54gs v7 that I bought from a guy on craigslist.I am tring to connect main computer with qwest wireless modem to another comp in bedroom do I need the  original cd that CAME with the router? The guy did not have it. I have found a driver on the linksys site for it but I dont WANT to download the wrong one please help THANK YOU.You don't need drives or software to use a router.

There should be a reset button on the back that you have to stick a pin in. Hold down the rest for line 10 secs..... and wait LIKE 2 mins for it to reset its self.

When it comes back on, and your PLUGGED into it, go start > run > cmd > ipconfig
This will give several pieces of info including a default gateway. Whatever the ip address is for the default gateway, open up a browser window and type it in there. It should pull up a configuration screen for the router.

If you can not CABLE to it, you should be able to see it on the wireless. Default SSID is linksys
