Solve : linux fedora installation?

Answer»

hey GUYS i 'm not experienced with linux .i am learning it now nd i want to install it.i have already vista on my pc.i want to work with both i KNOW its possible but i forgot.thnks every body for any help! For Starters...Excellent article, Patio
He will need to read it very well and not skip anything.
It says to make a backup of your Vista system.
You adjust the partition size in Vista, not Linux.
The Vista has to be installed first. Linux last.
Press the wrong key and Linux can wipe the whole disk.
You have to learn the Linux boot manager.

May I suggest that he use two HDDs. (Patio earlier said that somewhere else.) One for Vista, the other for Linux I recently discovered that my BIOS has a option during boot time that I can hit the F8 key before Windows and I get a LIST of possible PHYSICAL boot devices. Easy solution to the boot manager problem.

That's FINE if he has two HDDs.  If not, then I'd go the partitioning route.  No need to buy another HD if you only have one.thanks all of patio, geek and soybean.i know about using another hard disk.but i refreshed my memory about installing them on the same one nd how.
