Went a little further and tried the Longhorn Transformation Pack 10.5 (Freeware) I made a new drive image first of all so that I COULD restore easily if anything went wrong. I chose carefully and used the Automatic install whilst in safe mode, then changed the display properties. You MUST read the instructions very carefully. This is the result. Windows Blinds maybe. I wish someone would produce a more engineered tool rather than a psychedelic lsd geek machine. All this psychedelic gaudy stuff is a mess and systems should be more uniform and more performant. Then, you never know, Microsoft may even produce its own burning program (Sonic) as part of the package and even include Office, a .pdf reader and other adobe products, a Microsoft anti-virus, and so on, so that installing can ALL be done at one time from one DVD. Here is a nice example of what I think it Longhorn could look like. Just loose the Bliss wallpaper and the dummy cross. And lose the four colour Windows flag symbol and use the silver one by the Start Button. Next thing is to lose the word start and that stupid 'click here to start' message and just put the lanuage such as EN for English and FR for French, etc. Not everyone uses that symbol. It means nothing to Buddhists, especially if you think that Global Buddhism is a better system, as I do. (Less argument.) One planet, one system. Professionals living in a clean scientific perfection rather than in a global ghetto, and NO rock music, biker gangs, terrorists and trash, etc. Take a look at the planet you are living on with Google Earth. It looks like a revolving slum. Don't you agree?No one ever commits ritual suicide anymore. I was looking at Google Earth and I thought it was quite brilliant. Until it crashed and reality made a wake-up call. Yes, this place is quite a mess. Windows is starting to look far too much like the Macintosh. I would prefer to have Microsoft concentrate entirely on performance. For all I care, the My Computer icon is 4 PIXELS wide and 2 pixels in height. |
