Did you right click, cut, and then paste it somewhere else or did you do it some other way?

Is it not hidden in your hide folder?I USE the "move to"
It is not hidden in the hide folderI think I've had something similar happen to me once before.

All I did was recover the files using this:
http://www.snapfiles.com/reviews/softperfect-file-recovery/spfilerecovery.html

Try it and see if you can find the files.
(scan C drive and then your removable drive if you cannot find it)The trouble is ,i don't remember the exact name of the file.Do you remember the file extension? (like .txt or .dat. or something)

You can put in the recovery search '*.txt' and it will find all DELETED text files.Wait, if you don't remember the exact file name, how did you search for it in the first place?

I just use what ever i could find about the acc. logon like:
Accountlogon, myaccounts, accounts file [*.dat]. but without results.I'm afraid, unless there's somewhere you haven't searched, we might have accept the fact that it might be lost forever...

Unless someone else has any suggestions.
