Answer» Dell PC apparently has lost, or corrupted, the DVD driver; at least it does not see it. I have found the driver on internet and downloaded to the PC. Have attempted to load new driver through DEVICE MANAGER but it does not seem to work. Cannot use Windows XP CD because the system does not see CD. How can I get this driver installed. It is a Toshiba SD-M1021 driver.XP should not need CD/DVD drivers...what exactly is happening ? ?I am UNABLE to see the CD drive in My COMPUTER. When I look at Device Manager I have a yellow icon next to the CD Drive and when I look at properties it says it cannot read the driver.Try these steps: 1. http://support.microsoft.com/kb/314060 or... 2. http://aumha.org/downloads/cdgone.zip or... 3. Go to Device Manager, click a "+" sign next to IDE ATA/ATAPI Controllers. You'll see two items: - ATA Channel0 (or Primary CHANNEL) - ATA Channel1 (or Secondary Channel) Right click on each of them, and click Uninstal. Confirm. Restart Windows. They'll be automatically reinstalled.
