Solve : Lost Gigs? |
Answer» I have a laptop with an 80 gig hard drive(69 availible out of box). Now i have 18 gigs and i dont have that much on the hard drive. I have 5 gigs of music and two games that take up a total of 5.6 gigs. I also have some other things but not enough to take up what is says is gone. I have about 21 gigs of LOST memory that should be there. I think maybe some of my memory got lost when I changed from Itunes to Zune. I have gaps of BLANK memory and ive been trying to get it back. I defraged the drive and I did a clean up. The defrag did nothing and the clean up got me 6 gigs back. I just want to know if there is anything i can do to get the lost memory back. I know this is a confusing situation but i really appreciate the help. thanx Start by disabling the Indexing Service. And CHECK your settings for System Restore. By default it grabs 12% of the total size...download and install windirstat so you can visually find out where all the large files and folders are. Then delete the FILE you don't need. My guess is that iTunes is still taking up a lot of space with the converted music, photo, or video files. |
