Answer» thank you, but im sorry to say you were right and a system restore did not work. i tried it back to an AUTOMATIC one that the computer did,but there was no change when i logged back on. anyway thank youfor your continued help.Ok im starting to think you have a bad infection , have you any internet access on your computer ? We need to run some virus scans & adware scans.... Is your start MENU and taskbar there? I'm too lazy to read back through all this and SEE if they were. Is there any way to do virus scans in safe mode? Have you tried?in safe mode nothing is there,no icons and taskbar, i avent tried ad-aware scan in safe mode,but my kasperky does not work at all for some reason.i tried downloaded surposedly safe nod32 the other day but once i did that it wouldnt even allow meto open taskmanger so i had to delete that.thanks
