i've recently updated my OS from WinME to WINXP. i am now trying to setup my dialup internet connection again. i spoke to my service provider and i was told to update the modem driver. i've looked for the update on the HP website but i could not find one for the modem. do u where i can find the driver update for a Lucent Win Modem for XP?

Good luck.  do u know if this driver will work for all HP computers? My computer is a HP Pavilion 6746c.I couldn't verify that modem on your system. I did find a HP support site where you can chat and ask them. You must use IE.

Tell them Sidewinder sent you. Nothing on HP website about a modem for your computer.  If it works, then LEAVE it alone.  If it's not working, you'll have to remove it and read what's printed on the circuit board and/or the Lucent chip LOCATED on the board.i've TRIED the HP website,  but i've had no luck finding the driver for my computer. the modem was working before i installed WinXP. do u know how i can go about removing the modem so i can read what's printed on the circuit board and/or the Lucent chip located on the board?
thanksWhat did HP tell you when you chatted with them? If you have any paperwork on this system, you could probably find the specs there. Also I noted on the HP site, you could log into your account; maybe the info on your system including the modem would be there.
