Solve : Making a DVD.?

Answer»

Hello, I was wondering how can you burn movies on to a DVD so I can watch it on my DVD player. I'm TALKING about .avi files. I'm COMPLETELY new to this so please try to be as clear as possible. I've been trying to learn for a while, but I get lost. So please help me out. Thanks.Use a program such as Nero.Hello. What kind of program from Nero do you recommend? I have Nero Recode CE. I have converted the .avi files to MPEG-2 and just before I burn the DVD, it spits it out saying that I need a DVD R when it IS a DVD R. So i must be doing something wrong. Thanks.Edgar S. ......What I do with avi files ...is using Main Concept MPEG Encoder imput the avi files and set the output to DVD ..... then convert the FILE to DVD .......then use nero Express to burn it to dvd .......... ( works flawlessly )

What VERSION of Nero are you using ?
Is your DVD burner compatible with DVD-R disks ?

this is the place to learn about all video formats and how to convert them or improve the quality of your video and how to burn them. I use Tmpeg and it works great you can change your WIDE screen video's into full screen without quality or picture loss and all KINDS of great stuff. they also show you how to make your own chapters if your building a dvd. anyway have a look if you need any other help just let me know :-)Hey thanks for all your help Raptor, dl65, and bill_smith. I will try all of your ideas right now. And btw, my DVD burner is compatible with DVD-R's and I have the latest version of Nero Recode CE. Thanks
