Answer» I got a new laptop about a month ago. It came with 30 days trial of Norton which just expired. I got an email saying that BANK of america customers can get Mcafee free for one year, so I tried to take advantage. I got an email saying that bank of america customers can get Mcafee free for one year,Still more than it's worth. If you don't want to pay for a good av then you're better off with the free version of Avira or Avast than with McAfee. Quote from: Allan on November 05, 2009, 04:51:53 PM Still more than it's worth. Here is a download fro the FREE avast. http://www.avast.com/eng/download-avast-home.html I like it. And it is FREE! Gimme a break!Okay well that's all fine and dandy, but that still doesn't explain why it's not working. I just went and tried to download the avast! and it wouldn't work either. This thread should be taken by a AV specialist. Hey Moderator, call in the Calvary!I'm new to this forum... so what does that mean? I'm guessing I should take this to the virus forum?tryan i was assiting you in Chat last evening...what happened after you ran the Online scans and checked those webpages you were blocked from ? ? Quote from: patio on November 06, 2009, 09:28:43 AM tryan i was assiting you in Chat last evening...what happened after you ran the Online scans and checked those webpages you were blocked from ? ? Well I never did the other scans because I didn't know the websites. I couldn't remember what they were and I had got booted so I couldn't view the chat history. What protection apps do you have installed and what have you tried since last evening ? ? I don't have anything! I uninstalled norton because when i was downloading mcafee it told me too. then i couldnt ever finish downloading mcafee, which is what brought me here. The only thing i have is superantispyware. i did a complete scan and it found 2 things. i have the log if u would like to see it.DLoad install and update Avast Home edition and Malwarebytes anti malware... LET them fix any issues and re-boot after each scan... If there are still issues after that visit our Virus and Spyware section of the Forums...they're some of the best out there... Quote Scam I agree. Comcast gives McAfee "free" (av and firewall) to it's internet customers because it decreases it's tech support calls substantially. Why would BoA do that? Doesn't make sense. Well it's on the website and a recording when you call the 1800 number, so I know it's not a scam. Not sure why they are doing it, but I know it's legit. Quote from: patio on November 06, 2009, 06:13:53 PM DLoad install and update Avast Home edition and Malwarebytes anti malware... I can't install it! I keep getting an error: There was an error while completing the setup process. |
