I downloaded and installed McAfee Privacy SERVICE 4 days ago. When installation was complete it required a restart ~ which I did ~ unfortunately Windows never restarted. It comes up to my desktop but there is no taskbar and I cannot access anything. I have contacted Mcafee support several times ~ they seem to be useless, only telling me how to uninstall through Windows. I am able to access files through DOS, so I asked how to completely uninstall the files through DOS, and they said they would email me the instructions ~ they have not. Please help ~ I have been a bit LAZY in the past couple of months backing up files so I don't want to have to do a complete restore until I can at least back up my IMPORTANT files and photos. Any help would be wonderful.

Windows MEFirst, get to the command prompt. Okay, now type dir

That will list the directories and files on the HD. After that, find the directory (folder) you think it's in. type cd then the name of the directory exactly as it appears on the screen. Then what appears on your screen?
