Solve : Media Files Disappeared? |
|
Answer» My system is: HP Pavilion DV 9500 Notebook PC/ AMD Turion 64X2 mobile tech TL 58 1.90 GHZ/ RAM 1.00 GB/ Vista/ FREE AVG anti-virus de-frag or free up some memory. I restarted the computer and noticed my background had disappeared as had all my media files( photos, music, videos). You mean you restarted during the defragmentation. If you did, then you probably have a currupt filesystem. Boot to a WINDOWS CD and enter recovery console. Run chkdsk /rIf in fact you do only have 6G free out of 140G things aren't gonna run well regardless... Time to do some housekeeping and learn some file management principles. Quote from: wallywalrus on April 27, 2011, 02:48:10 PM ...I recall a window opening saying I was running out of memory on my hard drive and would need to de-frag or free up some memory...Not quite. It said "running out of space" (not memory) & "free up space" (not memory). Hard disk space & memory are not the same thing. |
