Solve : Media Player Classic crashes my computer :[?

Some avis that you download are badly done and can cause crashes. If it is (say) one in 20 then just be more careful where you get them from, is my opinion.
But the thing is, a lot of these I've had for a long time, back when MPC worked just fine. Not only that, but the same video file could work fine once, and then crash the next time. Also, it's just kind of odd that I've never had this PROBLEM with VLC (I still don't want to use it, THOUGH) with the same video files.Create a copy of one of the AVI files that crashes MPC.

Download DivFIX & execute main program.

Click 'Add files' then navigate to the copied AVI & select it, then select 'check errors'.

* I've never tried this program (never had to) which is why I suggested copying the AVI first.

See if it FINDS any errors with the file.

I would also scan your computer for malware - what security do you have?Well I went ahead and error CHECKED all the files I've had problems with, which was about 15 of them, and they all checked out fine.

I've RECENTLY done a check with AVG Anti-spyware, and I'm also quite careful with what I do on the internet so I don't get those kinds of problems often.

Is there ANY possibility it's in the settings file that MPC creates? It's the only other file accompanying it in it's folder. I'll try it out with the default settings and see if anything is different and report back. You might be onto something there... let us know how you get on
