Answer» I have a Toshiba Tecra M1 computer(1.6Ghz and 1024MB RAM) with Windows XP PROFESSIONAL (SP2). At home I have a wireless connection. Always when I start my computer it TESTS the connection: I get a Black screen with white letters(like DOS) it contains:
Intel (R) Boot Agent GE V1.2.03 Copyright 1997-2002 Intel corporation Attempting to establish link...
It always says error:Media test failure I think its because it test the LAN connection. Sometimes my computer totally blocks at that application. Than I can only shutdown with the button.(cold shutdown) Can I remove that function? Or can I update it sow my computer doesn't block anymore?Do you have access to BIOS settings that control this?Sounds like it's trying to boot to a PXE network card. Do what GX1-Man RECOMMENDS. In the BIOS LOOK for the Boot option and turn off the 'Boot from Lan' option.
Alan <>< Thanks for the advice. I've entered my BIOS but I didn't found any options about LAN. Except for the LAN connection himself.
