Solve : Microsoft Media Player keeps changing mp3 file names.?

Answer»

I have been using ms media player to extract mp3 files from CDS and when it's done I renamed the files and move them to a different folder from the output folder. But I find when I extract more tracks from the same CD or extract in different format the file names of the previous files from that disc return to their default names even though I tried to HIDE them from media player. Anyone know what is going on?Audio CDs do not have filenames. The filenames are chosen either by an online database, by renaming them in the PROGRAM as you prepare to rip (the process differs between programs) or automatically (Usually generic defaults like Track 01, Track 02, etc.

Ripping a CD, and renaming the output from that rip doesn't AFFECT future rips of that disc, Sort of like how copying a Cassette Tape and labelling the copy doesn't also label the original.Regardless of what program or database determines what the tracks are to be called. Why does media player seem to seek out and find previous ripped mp3 files and return them to their previous names when the disc is ripped again?
