Solve : Missing channel volume sliders? |
Answer» Intro: I moved my SB eXtremeGamer from an old to a new PC and, well it WORKS as expected, at least from what I can see Problem: My problem is the configuration, it doesn't show up right... I open the Sound Configuration (I think it's called that) from controlpanel Then I click Advanced and it says I have "5.1 Surround Sound" But if I open the Speaker Volume, I see this: Code: [Select]Left Volume: Silent --------|-- Loud Right Volume: Silent --------|-- Loud I saw this on the old PC when the card was in it: Code: [Select]Channel1: Silent -------|--- Loud Channel2: Silent -------|--- Loud Channel3: Silent -----|----- Loud Channel4: Silent ---|------- Loud Channel5: Silent ---------|- Loud Channel6: Silent ---------|- Loud Channel7: Silent |---------- Loud Channel8: Silent |---------- Loud In the help file I found an index over channels in an 5.1 example (Correct me if I'm wrong) Code: [Select]CH1 = Left Volume CH2 = Right Volume CH3 = Front Center CH4 = Subwoofer CH5 = Rear Left Volume CH6 = Rear Right Volume CH7 = Unknown/Unused CH8 = Unknown/Unused Since the 2 sliders I see controls volume for every channel I can't configure it as I want I have tried reinstalling drivers, with and WITHOUT the card installed Note: Both PCs runs WinXP, newer has SP3, OLDER has SP2 (Yes I'm gonna install SP3, but later) What should I do? Any help would be appreciated Btw: I don't KNOW where the problem is located but my guess is the drivers since the card works if I put it back into the old PC, so if this topic is misplaced move it please... |
