Solve : Missing file system32\DRIVERS\pci.sys?

hi guys, need urgent help. i was installing drivers for my friend's laptop and after the required restart i was shocked with a meassage saying that windows could not start because the above mentioned file is missing. Any ideas to solve the problem???.
specs: Fujitsu Siemens AMILO Pro
processor: CELERON M

For future references, Another option is to place your windows xp disc in your
cd or DVD drive, CLOSE the window when it opens or hold down the shift key so
it never starts (for about 5 to 10 secconds) go to run and click, start, run and type SFC /scannow in this box, your computer will start scanning for missing files and
checking to see if corrections need to be made (be patient) and just follow instru-

forgetting that without PCI.SYS the system can't boot at all...
