Solve : missing slc.dll? |
|
Answer» RESTARTED my computer and windows started up like normal but when i entered my password and it went to start upit brought up an explorer.exe system error. "the program cant start because slc.dll is missing from your computer. try re-installing the program to fix this problem". then when windows loads in all i get is a black screen with my MOUSE cursor. I have tried booting windows in safe mode with and without networking. I tried start up repair. and i also tried to boot it from a previous boot, not sure how to say that. this ll had not effect ordifferance. dont know if this is the right AREA too pen this thread in. UPDATE: i did a system restore to a time earlier today and that seems to have fixed it. I will return if it happens again later on. I would like to know why this happened so if you have any ideas i would appreciate them.I take it your running windows 7. Do a Search for hirens boot cd that has a live windows 7 version on it I think its up to v15 now. Also has a lot of tools for fixing machines. Also if you have a windows 7 cd put it in and from command type SFC.EXE /SCANNOW with a SPACE after sfc.exe. Doubt it fill your dll but it will repair any other issues you may not be aware of. If the worst comes to worst format and reinstall 7. It puts all the users files on the c drive in a folder called old windows. You don't even loose your stuff these days. |
