Solve : Monitor driver causing repetitive rebooting?

Answer»

Hello,
I am running Microsoft XP on my Gateway 835 computer.  About 3 days ago I had a driver error MESSAGE pop up and my wife closed it before I got to read what it was.  Now, everytime I log in, it boots passed windows and before opening my desktop reboots again.  When the initial boot screen POPS up, there are black lines running through it.
I did get it to start in safe mode, but the screen had lines running through it and it was difficult to see the windows I was opening.  I tried to restore the SYSTEM to about a week ago before the problem and still have the same problem.

I've plugged my monitor into a separate computer and it works fine.  So my thought is my video card is going BAD....but would that cause the computer to reboot or would it be something with the system?

Any help would be appreciated...thanks!  Do you also have onboard video?A littl googling I see you have onboard video and a PCI-E for video, which one are you USING?
