Solve : motherboard agp slot graffic card conflict?

Answer»

i have a intel 845 gl chipset  ( mother board id ---i845gl-w8362-6a69yprzc-00---)  IM-VESTA manufactured pc with a agp slot. recently i purchased a ge-forcefx 5200 graffic card. but when i installed the card to my mother board my the system does not detect the graffic card. I tried setting the display in the bios to the agp card but in the bios ---- I get only  2  options 1) onboard and 2)pci  .   there is no AGP option
i am ready to flash my bios if i can get a bios update which i am currently unable to find on the vesta site.
can u provide me a link to download the update.
PLEASE help----BIOS updates done incorrectly can ruin your motherboard. You need to see if your specific problem is addressed before you go installing it.

That said, is your onboard video able to be disabled inthe BIOS? Some are, and others MB's automatically disable it when an AGP card is inserted. You need to find the manual more than the BIOS update, especially as you have already changed some things blindly.  the problem actually is that even if i dont do any changes in the bios ASSUMING that the card will be enabled(detected) automatically. when i boot into windows there is no trace of the graffic card in the device manager .

please give some solution... i am aware of the consequences of flashing the biosWhy don't you list your motherboard make and model and we can have a google for it. You can download Belarc free (www.belarc.com) and get this info and more.  sorry for getting late to the reply friends

please!!!  please!!!! please!!! help me since i cant use my graffic card coz of this reason
IM-Vesta claimed that they were "The fastest growing IT brand in the world". It seems that should have been "The fastest disappearing IT brand in the world".

Their websites are gone with no sign of any registered anywhere else and that Award BIOS ID string of i845-w8362-6A69VPRZC-00 makes little sense:
 • 6A69V = Chipset ID - Not listed anywhere although i845 seems to designate an Intel 845 chipset
 • PR = Manufacturer ID - Not listed anywhere
 • Z = Model number (Usually)
It may correlate to the Vesta IM-VMBO112 board but just LIKE the manufacturer, it doesn't appear to exist any longer.
I seem to remember some hooha a while ago concerning the multinational monster Ingram Micro and Indian hi-tech Vesta IM.

I'll do some further digging for you but for the moment it looks like you're stuck.thanks everyone for such quick responses
everything is really happening here on this forum

comming back to the topic

actually the mother board id i have provided is exactly the number that appears on the bottom left corner of my screen at the start up

i was under the impression that im-vesta is actually a project of ingram micro.
am i wrong?

and relating to the Vesta IM-VMBO112 board ill do some searching on the net for this board

again i am very thankful for the help provided so far and looking forward to some more help.

please keep sending ur replies i am ready to provide wat ever information required

It seems that Vesta-IM was axed by Ingram Micro and has simply disappeared. Any hope of support has disappeared with it.
However, WebArchive list one Vesta board with an i845GL chipset and that's the VMBO-115 if that's of any use to you.
