Answer» I was wondering if I should switch from outlook 2003 to Thunderbird 2. Any thoughts? It's up to you really, everyone has their own preference. I like Thunderbird and can't stand Outlook, but others will say differently. Just install it and give it a shot, try it for at least a week to get USED to it. If you don't like it, uninstall it, no harm done.Best e-mail CLIENT since Eudora...hands down. I wouldn't hit a dog you know where with Outlook or Outlook Express...
But as Calum stated others may have different opinions. Thanks for the advice! I THINK I might give it try My fave client from ages ago is Forte AGENT V2 (later versions suck - re appearance plus newer won't read old database) - I digress, sorry.
I have to run email accounts for some sites I maintain and opted to use Thunderbird to deal with three of those - I like it a lot - sufficiently versatile to do what is needed and I trust it 100 times more than I'd trust Outlook! Judicious use of filters can mean good spam control if you need to see most of what comes in before deleting.Thunderbird is just a more "simple" email program as far as overall look and usability. Outlook is just not as "user friendly" but I personally like it better for everything it can do. I.E. adding my favorite sports teams schedules to outlook so I know exactly when they play and little things like that is why I like it.I was under the impression that Forte' was a newsgroup reader and not an e-mail client...If you need more of the full Outlook features, pair Tbird with Mozilla Sunbird. If you're just LOOKING to replace Outlook Express, Tbird is all that you need.
