Answer» I am going to be encodeing a movie into MP4 there are two settings I have I would want the smallest file size but keep good video picture. Why don't you try making video files at different bitrates and see which ones look better? Well my player has a 5. INCH screen so I can watch my videos on it. But I can output from my player to HDMi TV but I don't have it yet. So I am going to make mp4s now and I want to know what would be a Lowest bitrate I can get away with and have it look good when I do watch it on a HDMi TV? How good is your eyesight? 15 mbps is a good starting point for a 1080p display, I guess. This will result in huge files. Around 20 GB for 2 hours. Some prosumer HD camcorders go to 30 mbps or higher. But if the source is not HD there would be no point, as you would not magically create detail. Ok, I'll CUT the crap and tell you... 5 mbps will not look too bad on a 1080p display. Is that OK? It outpus to HDMi 720 I sould have told you this so what would the Lowest Bitrate be I can get away with? |
