Solve : .MPL Files?

Answer»

I was wondering. When I first started playing guitar in the EARLY 90s, I got this awesome instruction cd-rom. One of my guitar heroes put it out and honestly I haven't seen it in years.  I came across it and wanted to check it out, but I had the feeling it might not work. My thought was correct as it was made in 95 and then just supported the new Windows 95...sounds ancient computer wise. I remember the video being great and the music tab worked with the video. It was really a cool software DISC. It is long out of print and really hard to come by from what I understand now. I looked into Window Explorer and there were some different files on the cdrom, but one file seemed to be the storage main file. It lists as a .MPL file (mPlayer Document). I have never heard of this file type before. The size if like 550Mbs so it has to be that one. I am not seeing too much online that is helping me so in the process I came across this site in trying to figure it out. I am not sure what kind fo files are in this main file, but my interest is to EXTRACT them if possible and maybe convert them so i can enjoy them on the computer and maybe my iTouch. Any help would be appreciated. Thanks

BrentBrent, just a shot in the dark here but have you tried using the Program Compatibility Wizard, found in Programs \ Accessories?  I'm under the impression .mpl files are the video portion of the CD.  Hopefully someone more familiar with your problem will be along to add some help.

You might also provide the NAME of the original CD in question and maybe some serious Google SEARCHING will come up an answer.

Rosie Here is a link to tell you what a .MPL file is and where it was used. It is possible also to convert the file to another type if you do not have one of the listed programs that will allow it's use. truenorth
