Solve : MS Office 2010 files password protection?

Office 2010 and Windows 7 Professional.
Use PASSWORDS for confidential Word and Excel files but SAW somewhere that MS password protection is not secure. You knowledgeable opinion please.

The password on a computer can be hacked. MS office 2010 is still being supported until the later part of this year. So if using that run your windows update and it will still have security fixes in place for the office suite.

Depends on what's in the documents of course. As an extra layer of protection you could use the password protect and then encrypt the file itself with some encryption software.

It is easy to remove restriction protection on worksheet with VBA code or online tools. However, for open password, it is extremely hard to crack and most of the software recommended online are out of data. I managed to recover my lost password on an 2010 Excel file. Here is the trick:
