Solve : MS Word 2013 corrupt file? |
|
Answer» I have a file that it now says it can't open because the file is invalid or corrupted. I have tried all the basic and obvious fixes like the built in recovery in word and rename the file extension, trying to export it out, EVEN mess with the file header (had help on that one). Even downloaded some 3rd party software that was supposed to be able to recover these files, but no luck. Yes the file was create with word 2013 on a system running windows 8.1.And, is that Windows 8.1 system the same computer on which you cannot open the file? Or, are you trying to open it on another computer? And, if the latter, then what version of Office is on that computer? It's was created on Windows 8.1. Tried to initially open on that same system. Then MADE copies and tried it on a Windows 7 and Windows Vista systems and office 2010. How did you "make copies" ? ?Patio - I am not sure what you are asking. I copy / pasted from my windows explorer onto a flash drive as well as emailing a copy to myself at home. Had same results with both methods.Copy/Paste only retrieves the text data....most likely here is where it went South.I didn't copy paste the information from within the document. I can't even open the document. I COPIED the entire file from the original PC I created it on to other pc's to see if it was a problem with the software on the original pc. I haven't had any luck with that. Hope that helps ANSWER your question. |
