Answer» I was AFRAID of that. I was HOPING it was in the Normal.dotm file. I am at a loss as to what to do next.I found the problem. In the VIEW tab in Word 2007 there is section in the ribbon called "Show/Hide". One of the SELECTION is grid. Somehow this "grid" was checked. I do not remember doing this. I unchecked "grid" and the cross/hatching immediately went away. Mr. Commando, My Soybean, and Mr. BC_Programmer, I really appreciate your help. If I had not recieved your assistance I would have given up and scrubbed my drive to do a rebuild. Thanks!!!!!!!! Sincerely, controlengineer
