Answer» My Anti-Virus doesn't like my e-mail settings. Presently I have AWG and my e-mail client is Thunderbird. I get a message to the effect that AWG does not want me to use the recommended e-mail settings. That I should use a lower security for some reason. I don't get it.
Mys ISP, AT&T, says to use high security. What is gong non? So, you're using an AT&T email ACCOUNT and you have it setup in Thunderbird. Is that right? Can you tell EXACTLY what settings "AWG" is referring to when you see that message? Yes, and I have settings recommended to me by AT&T. Here is a picture of the screen and the pop up.
Here is the link they give. I have not yet tries that. Look to hard. Me thinks the solution here is improvement in your attention span. The link seems to be clearly written, IMO. OK. I am still working on it Had to STOP to grind some fresh coffee. After about an hour I finally got beyond this point: Quote Open the AVG program. On the Tools menu, click Advanced settings. On the left pane EXPAND Email Protection -> Email Scanner, and then click Servers.
Never found the Tools menu. So I clicked on e-mail. I am not good at guessing games. Now I have no wade through a menu that looks like a legal document. If I get it by the end of the week, I will let you know.
