Solve : My DVD/CD-ROM Drives are CORRUPTED or MISSING. Can I do a full system restore?? |
Answer» I CHECKED the Device Manager & there is a yellow exclamation mark next to:(!)HL-DT-ST-DVD RAM GSA-4163B, I tried to update, rollback & troubleshoot & it says my DVD/CD-ROM Drives are corrupted or missing. I have tried to uninstall the corrupted device, but when I add new hardware it is also corrupted. Can I download this drive off of the EMACHINES website? I looked at the downloads available & I don't see a DVD/CD-ROM Drive (!)HL-DT-ST-DVD RAM GSA-4163B, so if I uninstall it, can you PLEASE tell me how to reinstall an uncorrupted driver? I have no idea how the drivers became corrupted or missing? Can someone explain in detail how to fix this problem? ------------------------------------------------------------- It was WORKING fine just a week ago, so I don't know what happened in the meantime. I tried to do a system restore, back to the date when it was working, but it didn't work. When I turn on my computer there is a black screen & it says: Press F11 to start recovery: I do not have a system recovery disk, but when I CLICK on Local Disk D it says This area of your hard disk (or partition) contains files used for your system recovery I can't figure out any other way to get my DVD/CD-ROM Drives working again, so should I try doing a FULL system restore by pressing F11 when computer starts(without system recovery disk) or will that make things worse than they already are? How do drivers become corrupted or missing in the first place & what can I do to fix this problem?Double Post. Topic Closed. |
