Answer» I dont know what HAPPENED, but I switched hard drives n everything was going fine with my computers...but I put my hard drive back in its ORIGINAL computer, and now when it turns on, theres a black screen with the _ <------- underscore white line flashing and thats how it is. it wont go to the WINDOWS XP START UP or nothing...it just stays there, n im scared that everything i got, got LOST..... PLZ HELPDid you change the jumper settings during any of your activities? You also could have the IDE cable plugged in upside down.An XP HDD cannot simply be swapped from machine to machine and be expected to boot properly...if you have data on there you need i would hook it up as a slave drive in a working machine and retrieve/burn your data.Oh where, oh where has my OP gone Oh where, oh where can he be With his ears cut short and his tail cut long Oh where, oh where can he be?
