Answer» Hi all. I'm new here, and know relatively nothing about computers. I'm trying to download a movie, but I cannot figure out exactly how to get it to play. It is a .NBZ file. I know that I need a Newsreader, so I downloaded NewsBinPro. I have the file in NewsBinPro, and now it is a .RAR file. I WANT to be able to watch teh video, but am at a complete loss on how I would go about doing it. Can ANYONE GIVE me a walkthrough of playing this file. I would really appreciate any help that you could give me.
Thanks,
JohnCoolRunnin....... Well, you must unrar the file first. Once it's extracted you should be able to play in using News Bin Pro ( if that what it says). You will need Winrar .... or something similar to unrar that file.
dl65 Thanks for the help. I just downloaded WinRar, but have no idea how to un-rar the file. I open WinRar, and find the file. I click on the file, and get an error saying "This is not a movie file". What am I doing wrong? And I truly apologize for my ignoraance. Computers are beyond my knowledge base.
JohnCoolRunnin ... to extract a rar file ..... once winrar is installed, put your cursor on the rar file , RIGHT click and select extract here ...... it will extract. When you extracted the file, what is the file extension ? and how large a file is it ?

dl65, I'm still having problems with it. Let me tell you what I'm doing, and tell me what I'm doing wrong if you can, please.
I download the file to the NewsBinPro program. After it DOWNLOADS, the dialog box comes up, and I click open. That brings me into WinRAR. I click on the file that I want and click the shortcut that says "Extract to". I specify the folder which I want to save the file in, and click "ok." I then go into that folder, and find the file. It is a type NZB file, 102 KB. I double click it, and I get "Error -2048: the file is not a movie file." I am trying to open it in Quicktime. Am I using teh wrong player? Or is it something else?
Thanks for all the help. It's much appreciated.
John
*EDIT*: I changed the "open with" setting to NewsBinPro, and it's still a .RAR file, 304 MB. It seems like I'm going in circles?
JohnCoolRunnin.... lets run through this again..... You downloaded a file from some news service......and it was in .rar file type...... so you installed winrar ...and right clicked on the newsgroup file and selected extract here......... and you end up with another rar file ..only this time its 304 mb ......... so right click on the 304 mb rar file and select ...extract here ...... now what do you have ?
