Solve : Need drivers for motherboard?

Answer»

The Computer was an Emachines D2880... but was replace with a motherboard that was not the same..... the restore cd worked.
The drivers, chipset, ect everything worked great.  However, do to a different mb "HP motherboard" when i try to activate it.... it did not work.
so yes, i would say that tech was insane or was a good dam hacker!  You NEED to either do a fresh install of Windows or a repair install of Windows.on a different cd... not a restore cd correct?Using an XP cd, correct.that's is why i SAID that tech was insane... now he has to buy another xp cd.
he should have put another  crappy emachine mb that was the same... lol

thanks again What he did is irrelevant and your stuck with it...what we do is look for solutions...
Repair Install of XP...

Done properly all your data and apps will be intact...1 mistake and everythings gone...but you will have a clean install of XP.
So i suggest reading it thru and PRINTING out a reference COPY before starting...

PS You will most likely need to re-activate XP with MS...i know... but by the time i GOT the computer.... it was too late, he restore/format the computer.
Thanks guys. *****sigh**** Quote from: Slayer666 on December 04, 2010, 05:13:08 PM

Thanks guys.
So the tech has already formated the drive?
I hope you had your data/documents backed up.

What's up with techs always assuming that they have to format everything.no my friends father did... because the computer Crash.... he restore the pc and the tech said, you shouldn't have done that.
The thing that puzzle me was .... he restore it on a pc that wouldn't let you activate windows.... the tech put a new motherboard in it and didn't warn him that he couldn't use that cd anymore.

I don't know much about  Windows Reactivator  but the only thing i can think... and you guys would know more than me is he either use Windows Reactivator before he put windows in or hack the pc.  I don't know nothing about Windows Reactivator but i can tell you his HD went to heaven.
