Solve : Need guidance against WiseDisk Cleaner??

Answer»

Hello Folks!

On Scanning through the 'Junk Files' with WiseDisk Cleaner; it scours 'Windows Update Uninstall Files' & classify these under the same category(JUNK)!

Is it OK to safely remove all of these? I have not observed any other 'Junk File' cleaning utility classifying anything related to Windows Update as JUNK!

Similar advice is required against 'Windows Update Source Files'. Should I ever try to remove these as well?

Check out the complimentary Screenshots to get a clearer understanding.

[attachment deleted by admin]The uninstall files are there INCASE you need to remove an update. You can always copy these files to a cd to be on the safe side. If the update has been running for a few days with no problems I can't see why it would be a problem to get rid. But again it may be worth backing them up.I keep them for about 3 weeks until i'm sure there are no update issues then i delete them...Hello Mulreay & Hi Patio!

Has anyone of you two ever observed any other 'Junk File Cleaning Utility' classifying anything related to Windows update as being JUNK!

Do you think that CCleaner is a safer bet? I don't USE any of those.  I recommend making your file removals manually.CCleaner is a safer alternative...Hello Friends!

But none of you have told me anything about "Windows Update Source Files", as highlighted within the 'First Screenshot'?

What exactly are these? Thankfully(I hope so...) these are not checked by default within the SCARY Wizard of Wise Disk Cleaner! Quote from: Saurabhdua on July 29, 2009, 09:38:09 AM

These I'm not to sure about. I think there added when you run the update for security and verification.
Patio will probably know lets hang on for him for a bit.  they're the installer files. the MSI installers used to INSTALL the patches.Dear BC!

So is it OK to classify the same as JUNK(Wise Guys have decided to play SAFE & rely on the discretion of users)!

Aren't these products sometimes mean to 'Mess up' things, specially in context to a NOVICE users?well, I personally would delete them; since your patches are already INSTALLED. Additionally, they can always be downloaded through windows update.Hi BC!

Meanwhile, I got in touch with the 'Real People' as well-The Wise Disk Cleaner Guys!
