I'm trying to get some drivers to INSTALL. They are for getting my Rock Band GUITAR controller to work on a game called Frets on Fire for computer. I finally found the driver(The person said it worked for the Guitar Hero controller, so I'm going to assume it will work for RB as well). The problem is, when I try to install the .exe, a message box titled "Setup Error" pops up saying "installation did not complete". No more information is given.
Is there a way to go into the .exe file and manually extract the files? Thanks for the help.
By the way, here is a link: http://www.microsoft.com/downloads/details.aspx?FamilyId=0E989B12-576B-42F2-B7C1-2A17CE25188B&displaylang=en
UPDATE: I manged to extract all of the files in the .exe, but now I don't know where they would normally go Do you have any errors listed in DEVICE Manager?
Quote Microsoft Common Controller Driver This Redistributable Package includes the driver for hardware vendors to redistribute with their hardware.
What hardware are we talking about here?
